Why Disney Travel Means More Than Just a Vacation to Me

When people hear "Disney vacation," they often think about the rides, the characters, the fireworks, and the excitement of walking into a Disney park.

And yes, those things are part of the magic.

But for me, Disney has always been about something much deeper: family, memories, and the moments that bring generations together.

My Disney story started when I was a kid.

I still remember going to Walt Disney World with my mom back when there was only one theme park and just three Disney resorts. It was a very different Disney World than the one families experience today, but the feeling was the same — the excitement of stepping into a place where anything seemed possible.

Those early trips created memories that have stayed with me my entire life.

As I got older, Disney became a family tradition. We took trips with aunts, uncles, and extended family, creating the kind of memories that you don't always realize are special until years later. It wasn't just about the attractions we experienced. It was about being together.

Then came the next chapter: taking my own family to Disney as my kids grew up.

I got to experience the magic from a completely different perspective — not as the child looking around in amazement, but as the parent watching my own kids create their memories. Seeing their excitement, sharing those first experiences with them, and watching their personalities come alive in the parks gave Disney a whole new meaning.

And now, I get to experience Disney in yet another way: taking my granddaughters.

There is something incredibly special about watching a new generation discover the magic for the first time. Seeing their reactions, sharing those moments, and knowing that these are memories they may carry with them for the rest of their lives is why Disney continues to be so meaningful to me.

Through the years, I have watched Disney World change and grow. New attractions have opened, new resorts have been built, and the way families plan their vacations has evolved.

But the most important thing has never changed.

Disney is about creating memories together.
